A Madman Symphony, First Movement

The AA Big Book tells us that honesty with ourselves is a vital factor in our recovery. The impossibility of actually implementing this in my life seems overwhelming. My fear is that if I'm truly honest with myself, I'll come to define myself as a hopeless, worthless person beyond repair. Yet God sees us through a very different lens. God's love is deeper and more powerful than any neglect or deprivation that's been handed to me. And in taking action in the steps, prayer and meditation, fellowship, and continuing an inventory I'm able to access a small glimpse of this incredible love.
